Our Story

Our History
Kind Souls Foundation began with one woman’s experience, one deep friendship, and a simple belief: support should feel like support.
Best friends and business partners, Jen Alexy and Teresa Colian were launching their first company when a cancer diagnosis and personal disability claim revealed firsthand the gaps, delays, and emotional strain workers face. Frustrated and exhausted, Jen would say, “The system sucks.” But she believed it didn’t have to. She envisioned more than phone numbers or handouts; she wanted people to feel what was missing: seen and supported.
The questions that sparked Kind Souls were simple but powerful:
How can support be authentic, steady, and understanding?
How can it meet people where they are, especially when illness or injury disrupts work and life?
From these conversations, Kind Souls Foundation was born. A network of certified peer volunteers providing connection, guidance, and support without judgment or gaps.
Today, Jen’s spirit, her love of life, and her experience remain at the core of everything we do. Teresa carries that purpose forward every day, ensuring Kind Souls delivers the compassionate, authentic support Jen always imagined
